Terms of Service
Last updated July 26, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Qwil. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
Qwil (“Qwil,” “we,” “us”) provides this service. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use it.
2. The service
Qwil provides a structured scripture reader, an AI companion, memorization tools, and social features. The companion generates responses automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not reflect your tradition. It is not a substitute for professional, pastoral, medical, legal, or financial advice. Use judgment and verify anything important.
3. Your account
You must provide accurate information and are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Qwil.
4. Subscriptions, trials, and billing
- Qwil offers a free tier and a paid subscription. Paid features are billed through our payment processor, Stripe.
- If a free trial is offered, your subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. Your payment method will be charged the then-current price.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from the billing screen; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods.
- Prices may change; we will give notice before a change affects you.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Qwil for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
- Use the companion to generate content that is illegal or that violates others’ rights.
- Resell, scrape, or misuse the service or its content.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create in Qwil (such as notes and messages). You grant us the limited license needed to operate the service — for example, to store your content, sync it across devices, and send your messages to our AI provider to generate responses.
7. Intellectual property
Qwil and its software, design, and trademarks are owned by us or our licensors. Scripture texts are used under their respective licenses or are in the public domain. These Terms do not grant you rights to our branding.
8. Termination
You may stop using Qwil and delete your account at any time from the profile screen. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service. On termination, your right to use Qwil ends; sections that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that companion output will be accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Qwil will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Delaware will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the service, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
